ABSTRACT
Mycobacterium marinum is a nontuberculous (atypical) photochromogenic mycobacterium (Group I of the Runyon classification), This mycobacterium causes disease in many fish species, from fresh or salted water, human infection follows contact with fishes or contaminated water. First describe as fish tank granuloma because is often acquire from aquarium maintenance. The infection is commonly limited to skin disease, but sometimes can spread to deeper structures, resulting in tenosynovitis, arthritis and osteomyelitis more frequent in immunosuppressed host. A case of swimming pool granuloma is presented, treatment with minocycline was successful.
