ABSTRACT
Background: primary gonarthrosis is a very frequent disease that requires some
treatment modalities, whether conservative or surgical. The selecting of the treatment
is not a simple matter once the conservative modalities have not been successful;
hence the importance of getting to a consensus about the treatment of patients with
this disease.
Objective: to validate an algorithm of treatment for patients with primary
gonarthrosis.
Methods: for the validation of the algorithm, the Delphi method was employed by
consulting a group composed of 16 specialists in Orthopedics and Traumatology and in
Rheumatology from eight medical institutions in the country. The professionals
consulted had an average of 19.3 years of professional experience. They was a PhD in
Medical Sciences, 13 have a master’s degree, nine are 2nd degree specialists; there
were two professors and five assistant professors.
Results: the results of the calculations of different matrices were shown in four tables
of six.
Conclusions: the algorithm for patients suffering from primary gonarthrosis was
validated in regards to design, application and pertinence.
