ABSTRACT
The aim of the following article is to mention some general principles doctors must know and to raise awareness on the importance of sample handling. The main purpose is to answer the most frequently asked questions our department usually gets. Some doctors would like to know how to send a biopsy or a sample? how to prepare 10% formol? how much to add to the sample? and the most common being, why was the material insufficient for analysis, since the result on the report is autolysis? The attending physician is actually the only responsible for a comprehensive diagnostic. By giving the pathologist all necessary elements, the diagnosis will be more accurate.
