ABSTRACT

We report a case of temporomandibular luxation in a 76-yearold man in the intensive care unit. The clinical manifestations and the radiology studies supported the diagnosis. The patient had a full clinical recovery without any sequelae after the conservative management of this disease. Clinicians should remember that temporomandibular luxation most often presents as acute pain, clicking, or crepitus around the joint, difficulty in opening the mouth, masticatory muscle spasm, and possible associated headache, particularly in the people that present malocclusion, dental irritation, physical stress, anxiety, and bad oral habits.
