ABSTRACT
Breast cancer is a heterogeneous
and multifactorial disease
in both levels, clinical and
pathological. It results from
a series of cellular events
that produce an abnormally
disordered growth of epithelial
cells of the mammary ducts
and lobules. Worldwide breast
cancer is the most frequently
diagnosed malignancy among
Western women and represents
a real public health problem.
This review was made in order
to update the knowledge about
breast cancer as a disease that is
constantly evolving and a health
problem that does not escape
from primary care.
