ABSTRACT
Introduction: considering the lack of literature about health care quality in the subject Public Health, a bibliographic material was devised for this purpose.Objective: to develop an instructive material for teaching the topic of quality to 5th year medical students and Comprehensive General Medicine residents according to the demands of the training process.
Methods: a cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted. The universe consisted of 28 teachers from the Health Department of the Faculty of Medicine in the Medical University of Villa Clara. The study was conducted from September 2011 to December 2012. Theoretical, empirical and mathematical methods were used.
Results: a material that includes updated content regarding the management of health services was designed. It was validated by expert judgment for its approval, in correspondence with the problems that were identified in the department.
Conclusions: the material has been very useful for 5th year medical students in the rotation stay of Public Health, for Comprehensive General Medicine residents, and for professors teaching the rotation stay of Public Health.
