ABSTRACT
Hemangiomas are common tumors in the head and neck in pediatric
population; however, they are very rare in nasal cavity and paranasal
sinuses, so we carried out a review of nasal hemangiomas in its
presentation, varieties, site of origin, classification, diagnosis and
treatment. We present two cases in adulthood to illustrate this pathology,
the first an intraosseous cavernous hemangioma arising from
the nasal bones, whose defect was reconstructed with demineralized
bone matrix and autologous cartilage and the second with a nasal
capillary hemangioma arising in the lateral wall, the approach is
presented in both patients with diagnosis, treatment and evolution.
In this study we discussed treatment options, as well as a new form
of nasal reconstruction using demineralized bone matrix, this type of
graft is commonly used in long bones, spine, orbit defects, jaw and
periodontal lesions, but without any reports of its use in nasal bone
defects reconstructions.
