ABSTRACT
Supernumerary teeth are a developmental anomaly that is not frequently observed, and can occur in any area of the dental arches and dental affect any dental organ, causing problems with tooth eruption and malocclusion. Hyperdontia or supernumerary teeth, involves the formation of teeth in excess over the normal dental formula, both in primary teeth as permanent, and can be also accompanied by other congenital absence of teeth. These anomalies often occur because the continuous physiological process of tooth development is influenced by a complex interaction of genetic and environmental variables that affect different morphological stages to achieve the final shape and structure.
