ABSTRACT
The nurse requires of professional competitiveness with skills and nurse-patient harmonic relationship; therefore, it is very important that she takes into account that everyday transmits a personal impact by means of its communication. All the people contribute with the same elements in this process: (values, expectations of the moment, organs of the senses, our capacity to speak-words and voice-and our brain, for the warehouses of the knowledge that include what we have learned, read and assimilated by means of the learning and what has been registered in the two cerebral hemispheres). The communication is a delicate and complicated process by means of which we can understand each other to live with the other ones as well as to solve conflicts with our fellow men and ourselves. In the case of the interpersonal communication this means to be connected with another person in an emotional level, not only in an intellectual level. For it and for the specific case of the nurse-patient relationship, this article describes nine abilities that can cooperate to enrich the important work that the nurse carries out. Sometimes, from seeing things and patient we forget to look and from hearing voices and different noises we forget to listen to them. Today in day, in our reality, just by observing our patients we can realize that —en many occasions— the hospital is a hostile place, they are alone, afraid, and, prevailing necessity to communicate with the other ones. The nurse, for her affective and potential contribution, is a prop in the recovery of the health of the same one (who can advance more quickly when having more trust toward her treatment).REFERENCES
