Duplication of the cecal appendix. Case presentation

ABSTRACT
Background: the case is new because this rare anomaly has been depicted in less than 100 cases worldwide, this is the first case reported in Sancti Spiritus city and the most infrequent thing is that both appendixes are swollen simultaneously. Case presentation: a 52 year old male patient who was operated on a perforated ulcer 20 years ago, he had had abdominal pain for three days accompanied by vomits and fever, he was surgically intervened with the diagnosis of acute appendicitis and during the surgical forthwith another cecal appendix was found. Conclusions: the patient evolved favorably, with no post operative complications. He was discharged after seven days of having completed the antibiotic treatment in the surgical ward.REFERENCES
