Two case report: Gestational hyperthyroidism

ABSTRACT
Gestational hyperthyroidism is a non -
autoimmune disorder caused by the stimulation
of the thyrotropin receptor through the chorionic
gonadotropin hormone (CGH). It presents from 1
to 4% of all pregnancies when CGH levels are
between 70, 000 and 80, 000 units. Most of the
symptoms are nonspecific and may be confused
with those of normal pregnancy, thus its diagnosis
is not made. The most important feature is its
transient nature, being limited to the first
trimester. In a subgroup of patients the clinical
manifestations are more severe, and are
associated with gravidic hyperemesis, which
makes early diagnosis to be suspected. Here are
