ABSTRACT
Necropsy was performed to 6 black male sheep Hawaiian and Texas Dall adults. These
animals had been hunted for hunting order, showing distended abdomen and regular
body condition. At necropsy was observed hydroperitoneum, moderate atrophy of fat
tissue, at subcutaneous and mesenteric level. At the hepatic parenchyma there were
some light pink spots, distension of bile and gallbladder mucosa in addition was
thickened and content of this bladder was light yellow including the presence of several
tapeworms in the lumen and even in some ducts. Samples buffered formalin-fixed were
sent for histopathological diagnosis and some specimens for parasitological diagnosis.
Results indicate the presence and action of
Thysanosoma actinoides on the liver of
these sheep.
