ABSTRACT
The ranula is a retention cyst of the sublingual gland, with progressive enlargement; it can break and extend into the underlying soft tissues, such as a pseudocyst. It is classified as simple (sublingual space) and deep (below sublingual space), typically extend behind the edge of the mylohyoid muscle at its entry to the submandibular space, progressive growth involves posterior-above this space within the parapharyngeal space. We present a patient for urgent drainage of giant ranula, with a obstructed airway, searching the best option to intubate him, one of the alternative is the use of fiberscope; however, it is also known in a no cooperative patient , isn’t the first choice, which is why we carry out a review of the literature.
