ABSTRACT
Introduction: Memory plays an extraordinarily important part in man’s life. It is a neurocognitive process that allows to register, code, consolidate, store, consent and recover the information, it cannot be contemplated as a unique and unified entity, but as a system that is constantly in mutual interaction, that is sensorial, short and long-term memory, procedural, declarative, episodic, autobiographical, prospective and semantic. When a lesion takes place in the Central Nervous System, patients lose their temper as to Superior psychic functions specifically memory. Its deficit lies in problems in the acquisition phase of the information. Objective: To review how it influences a system of activities in the correction and/or compensation of memory in patients with this entity. Material and methods: A quasi-experimental study in a group of 15 patients was carried out. This system was applied in a two cycles-duration period with a frequency of two-daily hours. Initial and final neuropsychological test were carried out to verify the grade of cognitive dysfunction (Weschler Test). The results were compared finding the percentage of improvement. Results: The age range of the group studied was from 21-55 years. The main feature found was the channel capacity or the distribution of attention. Disruptions in the mechanisms for setting the memory were one of the greatest difficulties. We obtained an improvement in each controlled variable, in relation to the assessment prior to treatment. Conclusion: The created system of therapeutic activities influenced in a positive way for memory compensation within the group of investigated patients.REFERENCES
