ABSTRACT
Pardos pose in
Kuhn, Wallon and the anomalies of functional psychology, that functional psychology had limitations and opposed resistance to paradigmatic change in the face of anomalies that are nowadays evident, and that the work of Henri Wallon exemplified it. Pardos argues that such resistance was selective blindness to the clear existence of mental structures, which in turn led to engage in contradictions and conceptual gaps. It is argued in this paper, that functional psychology did not present resistance to paradigmatic change, to the extent that the kuhnian concepts of paradigm and anomaly in which criticism is based do not correspond to Pardos treatment. Furthermore, the author begs the question on mental structures and offers an inaccurate interpretation of structuralism and functionalism, obscuring any pretension of argument. It is concluded that the author´s critics could be understood as a legitimate epistemological delimitation exercise of functional psychology and Wallon’s work, and that the analysis would be profitable if it focuses on the description of conceptual transitions in the history of psychology.
