ABSTRACT
The use of propranolol as a treatment option to cure or mitigate the hemangiomas in
children was briefly reported. Although the mechanism by which the drug acts in these
benign tumors is not very well-known, it is thought that it can be related to the control of
cellular hypoxia, induction of endothelial cell apoptosis and inhibition of endothelial and
fibroblast growth factor.
