ABSTRACT
A descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted during 2010, in 5 936 people
aged 15 years and over as a representative sample of the country, with several stage
cluster sampling, in order to determine the quality of life related to health in the urban
population from Cuba. The sociodemographic variables used were age, sex and skin
color, and those of the generic questionnaire EuroQol: mobility, self-care, usual
activities, pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression. Most of people had mobility, selfcare
and usual activities preserved. It is concluded that male mestizos younger than 45
years showed a higher quality of life related to health and the questionnaire can be
valid to describe this indicator in that population.
