ABSTRACT
The Morel-Lavallée lesion is recognized by any orthopedic surgeon, but rarely mentioned in medical literature. It may occur by a high-energy trauma, direct bruises, or sports injuries, usually in trochanteric area. It may be found in acute or chronic forms. The diagnosis is clinical, and ultrasonography or magnetic resonance image corroborates it. Surgical treatment is required as soon as the diagnosis is made, since it can cause skin necrosis or serious infections by skin and subcutaneous tissue separation or avulsion (degloving) of the muscular fascia. Morel-Lavallée lesion could be named pseudo cyst, soft tissues postraumatic cyst or extravasation’s Morel-Lavallée.
