ABSTRACT

The thyroid masses are a common problem that faced by the medical in first level, although the risk of malignancy is low it is important to identify the type of mass to define a future medical or surgical treatment. Sonographic studies have increased the detection of this pathology and serve as a guide to biopsy, however the lack of medical knowledge has tended to underestimate their ability to characterize benign and malignant lesions, fine needle biopsy has become the diagnostic test for preference.
