ABSTRACT
The intrauterine device is a
safe, effective, long-lasting,
yet reversible method of
contraception. This method
should be consider in general
population including,
nulliparous, adolescent women
in immediate postpartum and
post abortion. In addition to its
high effectiveness this method
provides and alternative in
patients with chronic diseases
or in need of emergency
contraception.
