ABSTRACT
It is proposed the need to clearly differentiate the concepts
“event” and “construct” if the goal is to unify the different existing
ideologies so as to reach a higher scientific and professional
development of psychology, which is the intention of
the programmatic contribution of the experimental synthesis
of behavior, formulated in Ardila’s target-article. These concepts
are analyzed in depth, distinguishing cultural, descriptive
and explanatory constructs, stating the detrimental effect of
mixing up events with constructs and considering cultural
constructs as scientific ones. Finally, it is specified certain confusion
from the type explained in the programmatic contribution
of the experimental synthesis of behavior.
