ABSTRACT
Ovarian serous cystadenoma is a type of tumor derived from the surface epithelium
(coelomic) comprising cystic areas. The reason for the predominance of these
tumors in the ovary is a mystery. It is reported the case of a patient with ovarian
serous cystadenoma, who was referred to our center for presenting a great
abdominal volume enlargement, of two years of evolution, whose diagnosis was
suspected by pelvic ultrasonography finding and corroborated by Computerized Axial
Tomography, it was found a giant tumoration at the operating room, being confirmed
by anatomic pathology.
