ABSTRACT
The exclusion and marginalization women have been subjected to as a consequence of a gender construct based on inequality and discrimination has resulted in their minimal presence or even exclusion from the public eye. The field of higher education is no exception, and this marginalization can be found on all levels, from students to teachers and researchers, and in the practices all around campus. Thanks to the constant and persistent work of the Women's Rights Movement, there have been changes that have allowed for a greater presence of women in higher education. But a greater representation in the classrooms as well as among teachers and researchers is not enough to turn around the male-centered gaze that prevails in the field; it is necessary to analyze and modify the institutional mechanisms that reproduce or pass on discriminatory and unfair practices in this professional field. Action can be taken through the labor field, the administrative field, the legislative field and the curricular field, among others. Within this framework, the objectives were the following: a) To analyze the contents of the Psychology program of the UNAM FES Iztacala in order to break an androcentric tradition and lead to an education formulated through a gendered scope, b) To develop proposals with the aim of bringing attention to the theoretical and methodological contributions made by female authors in the field of psychological knowledge and research pertaining to the subjects taught in the psychology degree, and c) And stemming from the latter, to drive future curricular contents towards a development that will include the analysis of the role of gender in the process of the production of knowledge and its transmission as a guiding principle. The methodology used was: Case analysis and gender perspective. The body of research was composed by the official programs of the psychology degree at the FES Iztacala, a bibliographical search and personal internet research.
