ABSTRACT
Tacrolimus has been show to be a powerful suppressor of the immune system. It was first introduce to prevent allograft rejection and is now routinely used in kidney, liver and heart transplantation. Is the prototype of a new class of topical immunomodulators (TIM) for the treatment of inflammatory skin disease, above all atopic dermatitis, but is not the only disease that’s been tested and the indications are likely to grow. The objective of this review is to express the knowledge of the mechanism, possible indications in dermatology, dosage and adverse reactions of tacrolimus.
