ABSTRACT
Canaliculitis is the inflammation of one or both canaliculi due to different causes, among them the
infectious one, is unusual by bacteria, except in canaliculitis by concretions where Actinomyces
israelii is the more isolated microorganism. Two patients with chronic canaliculitis by concretions
appear in which coagulase-negative
Staphylococcus spp negative was isolated.Surgical treatment
was carried out (canaliculotomy) in both, as well as antibiothic prophylaxis pre, trans and by oral
and local route, according to antibiogram. A satisfactory immediate answer was obtained and the
later evolution was favorable.
