Objectives: to determine the clinical epidemiological characteristics of adult patients with epilepsy in Sancti Spíritus municipality.
Methodology: a transversal descriptive investigation was carried out from January to December 2010;
in the data analysis descriptive and statistical techniques were used.
Results: there was a prevalence of patients with epilepsy of 9.60 per every 1000 inhabitants being the greater prevalence between 15 and 19 years old
with the similar distribution in both sexes. There was a greater prevalence in focal crisis.
Most of the patients had certain level of education and they had an active working life but only a third part had stable marital relations.
