ABSTRACT
Introduction. Computed tomography is a technological breakthrough in which the use of virtual endoscopy in various body
systems have led to a new landscape for the detection of pathologies in which the procedure is minimally invasive and is not even
necessary in some cases.
Objective. To determine the usefulness of studying hysterosalpingotomography and raise awareness of
the present study in Mexico because there is no history in the country.
Material and methods. We conducted a descriptive study
between the months of May 2011 to August 2011 which looked at patients who had gynecological problems of infertility. We
used a 16-slice CT scanner model PHILLIPS BRILLIANCE 16 mark where the procedure was performed with the patient supine and
asepsis and antisepsis of the region. Were instilled into the uterine cavity 10 to 20 mL of solution with low osmolality iodinated
contrast for visualization of the cavity. We evaluated 25 patients referred to our imaging. The acquisition of the data was sent to a
workstation where the images were analyzed with the use of multiplanar reconstructions, 3D and virtual endoscopy.
