ABSTRACT
Cutaneous smooth muscle hamartoma is a rare abnormality, usually congenital, characterized by a benign proliferation of dermal smooth muscle bundles. Clinically the lesions may be associated with hypertricosis and hyperpigmentation, resembling a Becker´s nevi, entity which is different. We report a case of an acquired smooth muscle hamartoma in the face. The clinical characteristics, the differential diagnosis, specially with Becker´s nevi and the histogenesis are considered.
