El papel del personal del Hospital Juárez de México en Bioética. Encuesta que explora los conocimientos bioéticos en el personal médico, de enfermería, paramédico y administrativo

ABSTRACT
Objective. To know the level of basic knowledge of bioethics (B) and the labor in Committee of Hospital Bioethics (BHC) into the community of the Hospital Juarez de Mexico through a survey. Materials and methods. An anonymous survey was conducted at this hospital’s health personnel. The questionnaire consisting of 13 closed answer questions. Statistics by frequency and percentage. Results. Recovered 373 answered questionnaires (74.6%). Medical ethics concepts were correctly answered by physicians (42.8%), nurses (43.1%), researchers (39.3%), social work (34.8%), administrative (30.5%). Knowledge and use of the BHC’s hospital; medical: (yes) (no) 92 and 68%, respectively, nurses: 64 to 82%; researchers: 57 and 83%; social work: 58 to 77%; administrative staff: 38 and 90%. Because not consulted the BHC?, the answer was who had never had a dilemma bioethical, 52% doctors; nurses, 41%; researchers, 57%; social work, 67%; and administrative, 50% (total 53.4%). Discussion. The percentage of basic knowledge of medical ethics in our study is below than works in Argentina and Cuba. The 69.8%, knows the existence of BHC however 84% has not consulted it and most consistent in that has not had bioethical problem or dilemma. Conclusions. Most of the staff of the HJM unknown the basics of medical ethics, there is a gap of knowledge on which makes the hospital BHC. Is needed to enhance the teaching and research in this area, task incumbent local BHC as well as the National Commission of Bioethics and public and private universities of the country, particularly in aspects of doily medical practice, thus helping significantly to the health-care providers to identify bioethical problemsREFERENCES
