ABSTRACT
Male patient, 53 years, was admitted with pain sternal 5 months of evolution (August 2010), which had no history relevant to your
current condition, said that two months ago began with the appearance of a tumor in the region midsternal, which is painful
especially to mobility and touch. Not refer systemic symptoms, fever, night sweats, or weight loss. On physical examination a hard
mass palpable mild pain that awakens in the region midsternal, firmly attached to the flat bone. Laboratory studies were normal.
Incisional biopsy was performed and needle biopsy of the bone marrow, concluding: solitary bone plasmacytoma, was subsequently
treated surgically for curettage of the tumor and application of methylmethacrylate. The patient presents with 28 weeks of
evolution with a satisfactory outcome so far.
