ABSTRACT
In the management of the infected wounds there is a great variety of treatments with a different effectiveness. In this group are the
care with irrigation of saline solution only, the wash with surgical soap and water and the use of topic antiseptics each one with
favorable and unfavorable characteristics for its use. In the group of antiseptics there are the superoxidized solutions (SOS), this
solutions have the advantage of any topic antiseptic without the undesirable local effect, having this group of agents as an
alternative in the treatment of infected wounds.
In the next lines we will analyze the properties of the SOS and its effects on infected wounds and the advantages on other
traditional methods.
