ABSTRACT
Hemorrhoidal thrombosis is the presence of blood clots at the internal or external hemorrhoidal plexuses. External thrombosis is the most frequent. Treatment is in accord with pain severity; in case of acute pain local excision of thrombosed haemorrhoid should be performed. Recurrent thrombosis and multiple thrombosis should be treated by formal hemorrhoidectomy.
