Bodies asteroid in the direct examination of a patient with lymphatic sporotrichosis

ABSTRACT
We present the case of a florist 68 years old with lymphagitic sporotrichosis who had 10 years history with the disease. We fouded three asteroid bodies in direct microscopic examination. The asteroid body are extracellular eosinophilic structures, which is formed by the fungus yeast surrounded by eosinophilic spicules derived from disintegrated host cells.
