ABSTRACT
Background. Facial trauma is an important cause of functional and aesthetic defects. The most affected bones are those from the nose, followed by orbital floor. Appropriate and quick management may prevent functional loss, complications or late sequels. Sometimes is necessary not only the reduction of the fractures but also cutaneous, fasciocutaneous or myocutaneous flaps to cover superficial defects. The most common sequel is enophtalmos and diplopia. Case report. We report the case of a 24-year-old male with history of car accident and facial trauma, presenting with facial trauma sequel diagnosed by CT scan, who goes under facial reconstruction. Conclusion. It’s important that the medical and surgical staff, before the initial evaluation, identifies any facial fracture, in the understanding to be evaluated as soon as possible in order to diminish sequels.REFERENCES
