ABSTRACT
Vascular access for hemodialysis still represent a useful resource for the treatment of end-stage renal disease. The most common surgical procedure is the arteriovenous fistula. The formation of a pseudoaneurysm represents a complication that may not be easily identified but with great potential of increasing patient morbidity in case of rupture. It has been reported that up to 15% of hospital readmissions in kidney-disease patients is associated to complications with vascular access. Pseudoaneurysm may be underdiagnosed by health providers not familiarized with angiology, so we think multidisciplinary programs for the attention of chronic and terminal renal patients must be created. We herein present the case of a patient with a large pseudoaneurysm in the site of an arteriovenous fistula.REFERENCES
