Heart Attack Clinical Epidemiological Characterization in Patients of Vladimir Ilich Lenin Provincial Hospital

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the heart attach is a disease associated to biological risk factor of high mortality.Objectives: to characterize heart attack clinically and epidemiologically, at Coronary Care Unit of Lenin Hospital from May 2010 until May 2011.
Methods: a descriptive retrospective study of series of cases was performed in199 patients admitted at Lenin Hospital with heart attach diagnosis.
Results: the results showed that heart attach was more frequent in male patients with 118 of them (59.2 %). There was a higher incidence in those patients older than 56 years (male sex). The hypertension represented the highest incidence with 144 (72.3%). 131 patients had complications (65.8 %) and 78 patients died (39.1%).
Conclusions: patients older than 70 years were the most affected ones regarding mortality. The male patients over 56 years reported the highest number of cases with heart attach. The hypertension and pomp failure increased the mortality with 60 cases (45.8%).
