ABSTRACT
We communicate the use of embryoscopy as a technique of transcervical endoscopy to obtain chorion, amnion and embryo biopsies in a selective manner, and to determine the karyotype in recurrent pregnancy loss cases. We studied five patients with deferred abortion admitted at the Santa Rosa de Lima Hospital, Ensenada, BC, Mexico, from March to July of 2004. Before an obstetric curettage, a hysteroscopy with selective biopsy in five gestational sacs was performed. Embryoscopy allowed a precise identification of the embryos anatomical structure and the clean biopsies obtained allowed the identification of chromosomal changes (mainly trisomies) that were related to pregnancy loss.REFERENCES
