ABSTRACT
The bacterial resistance against antibiotics has turned into a world level health problem. The development of new
antibacterial drugs as well as their indiscriminate and irrational use has increased this resistance, not mentioning the
evolutive pressure exert by the therapeutic use. It seems that the discovery of new antibiotics solve the problem. However,
new hard to control mechanisms of resistance appear. This work is a bibliographic revision where are briefly described
the mechanisms of bacterial resistance presenting naturally and adquired.
