ABSTRACT
Talar and peritalar dislocations are rare events and are usually decribed in the literature as case reports, there are few series that have enough number of patients to classify and study these types of injuries. These dislocations can easily be overlooked if one is not suspicious enough to look for them and if there is not an adecuate radiographic protocol to make a diagnosis. Peritalar dislocation alone only represent around 1 % of all body dislocations, it compromises simultaneous subtalar and talonavicular joints and are usually associated with navicular, talar neck and talar head fractures and less commonly calcaneus fractures. We present a case report of a female patient that presented an isolated talonavicular fracture with no signs of fractures. The most ressembling type of injury in the literature to our case is the “Swivel” talonavicular dislocation, but this one has movement of the calcaneus under the talus, which is not present in this particular case.REFERENCES
