ABSTRACT
Introduction: ERCP is an effective and safe treatment option, and it is often the first choice for biliopancreatic diseases.
Objective: to show the main results of the first year of work using cholangiography for diagnosis and treatment of biliopancreatic diseases.
Methods: aretrospective, descriptive study of endoscopic retrograde cholangiography performed over a 12 month-period. Description of variables related to the outcome.
Results: this procedure was mainly indicated to study jaundice (39.8 %). Cannulation was achieved in 87.3 %. Lithiasis was found in 19.6 % of cases. Sphincterotomy and precut papillary were performed (51.9 %) (20.9 %) respectivelly. Stone extraction was achieved in 60.8 % of cases. Complications occurred in 4.06 %. The mortality rate was 1.26 %.
Conclusions: the significance of endoscopic retrograde cholangiography biliopancreatic was confirmed when handling conditions, achieving good results.
