ABSTRACT
Cleft lip and palate is a frequent congenital deformity in our context. It may involve tissues and structures from the lips to the pharynx. The involvement of the Stomatology Department is essential during extended periods of time as part of an integral treatment. The dental group requires constant information exchange with the rest of the multidisciplinary treatment team. In this work we present the general outline/measures used applied at the General Hospital «Dr. Manuel Gea» Gonzalez in Mexico City, for study and treatment of patients with craniofacial deformities, especially cleft lip and palate. The functions and activities of the dental interdisciplinary group start from the first days after birth until adulthood.
