M. hominis, U. urealyticum and
M. genitalium. Mycoplasma hominis and
Ureaplasma urealyticum are the most frequently isolated, and occur in pregnant women spontaneous abortion, septic abortion, premature rupture of membranes an intraamniotic infection, in nonpregnant women produces gland abscess Bartolino, vaginitis, cervicitis and infertility.
Objective: To determine the incidence of
Mycoplasma hominis and
Ureaplasma urealyticum in patients attending the Hospital of Gynecology and Obstetrics IMIEM.
Methods: From June 2001 to June 2012, 370 samples were obtained from the endocervical canal, to which they were determined

Results: Of the 370 samples tested for
Mycoplasma search, found an incidence of 50.81% for
Ureaplasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma hominis to 1.62%, and 10.27% for samples where there where two types of
Mycoplasma (Mycoplasma hominis and
Ureaplasma urealyticum).
Conclusions: The incidence of
Mycoplasma was 62.7%, being more predominant
Ureaplasma urealyticum. It is important to perform the test in women of childbearing age to avoid possible complications in pregnancy.
