Characterization of the scientific activity to the nursing personnel of a health center.

ABSTRACT
Introduction.The concept of investigation is a process that through application of the scientific method, allows us to know, to verify, to correct, and apply to knowledge. Methods. A transversal, descriptive study was performed from July -December. 2010, on a samp le of 40 nurses, divided into 31 registered nurses and 9 general ones; inclusion criteria for this investigation were to be working when the survey was conducted and to participate voluntarily in it: age, sex, professional qualification, years of graduatio n and years working at the center were studied. Results. The group of major predominance was 31-40 years of age (42, 5%), where the feminine sex prevailed (72, 5%) as well as the category of registered nurses (77.5%). The media for years of work was of 19 .5 and 11.5 working at the investigation center. Only the registered ones participated in projects as authors (25.9%).The general nurses presented difficulty with the methodology of investigation (83.3%). A 40% have published works and a 85.5% gave importa nce to scientific investigation. Conclusions. General Nurses showed difficulty with the methodology of investigation and publishing.REFERENCES
