ABSTRACT
Prevention in medical practice is one of the main goals; concerning the airway management, identification and recognition of a difficult case, should alert the physician in order to perform the optimal management and provide the assurance of a satisfactory, ventilation, and oxygen supply, in the presence of any event threatening the patient’s life. This review shows the different predictive values to detect a difficult airway and the mode to face them, they are also mentioned the procedures to carry out an eminently good ventilation and laryngoscopy. They are here mentioned some pathology cases which engaged anatomy and respiratory function. It is insisted and stressed that a complete case history and adequate physical exploration will give an invaluable information about the possible difficulties in front of a troublesome airway approach and the different proposals to solve the problem. Airway management will always be a challenge in the every day practice.
