ABSTRACT
The case of 16 year-old female with a yolk sac tumor of the right ovary, macroscopically solid and with a hystological pattern of hepatoid growth is reported.
The tumor gave massive metastasis to the liver and ascitis; this opened the diagnostic possibilities to yolk sac tumor; hepatocellular carcinoma or a hepatoid ovaric carcinoma.
This is the first case in the records of the pathology unit of the Hospital General de Mexico, in which a yolk sac tumor presents itself with an extense hepatoid pattern.
