Lithopaedion in an umbilical hernia

ABSTRACT
The 44 year old patient, black race, urban origin, went to the consultation of ambulatory surgery of the General University Hospital Vladimir I. Lenin of Holguín, referring increase of volume at level of the navel, which was verified with the physical exam and she was carried out the clinical diagnosis of non complicated umbilical hernia. They were indicated the corresponding complementary studies for the preoperative checkup and it was subjected to surgical treatment. When carrying out the herniorrafy we find inside the hernial sack a stone, Lithopaedion, of approximately 18 weeks and we send it for their anatomopathological exam, being exceptional, because the ectopic one abdominal it is the less frequent second of all, but more curious it is that as content of an umbilical hernia, in our experience being this the first case reported in Cuba.
