ABSTRACT
The authors analyze four cases of tuberous sclerosis whose most common findings were subependimal hamartomas and facial angiofibromas. Other findings were giant-cell subependimal astrocytomas, multiple cardiac rhabdomyomas, policystic kidneys, subungueal fibromas, hypocromic spots and renal and renal angiomyolipomas. The clinical and morphological presentation of tuberous sclerosis is heterogeneous. The authors use this review to illustrate the most important pathological features for diagnosis.
