ABSTRACT
A development study with a qualitative approach was conducted with the aim of devising an algorithm to establish a comprehensive conduct in patients with recurrent aphthous stomatitis. An intentional non-probabilistic sampling was carried out, to work with the group of experts using a quota with an opinion-based approach which included the expert’s judgment. The research process was developed in three stages. First stage: creation of a work team made up of several specialists, selected by purposive sampling. They identified major deficiencies related to diagnosis, conduct, monitoring and control of recurrent aphthous stomatitis analyzing the information obtained in previous studies. The information obtained was properly triangulated and subjected to a thorough content analysis. Second stage: development of algorithm considering the Cuban Standard 9000-4, from 1999. And the third stage: evaluation by experts and creation of the final algorithm taking into account the difficulties found. The devised algorithm was considered adequate, as judged by experts.REFERENCES
