ABSTRACT
Malignant melanoma is a neoplasia that has multiple histologic patterns. They can simulate carcinoma or different kinds of sarcoma with high or low grade malignancy. Osteogenic melanoma is a very rare variant of melanoma with osteocartilaginous metaplasia. They have been described with fibroblastic differentiation (desmoplastic melanoma), with differentiation to Schwann cells (neurotropic melanoma) and these with lipoblastic, rhabdomyoblastic, ganglion cells and pseudomeissnerian structures. It has also been described with myxoid degeneration and presence of round cells. In the medical literature 17 cases of osteoblastic melanoma have been reported to date. Fourteen in skin and 3 in the mucosa of several organs
