ABSTRACT
Background: The syndrome of Guillain Barré is an acute desmielinizant inflammatory polyrradiculoneuropathy disease of autoimmune nature infrequent in pediatric age, the disease begins with a progressive muscular weakness but in this case it was not like that. Case presentation: An atypical way of presentation of this syndrome was described in a 9 year old girl who was admitted to the hospital in the service of neurology complaining of facial paralysis as a first clinical manifestation and after three days she began with a muscular weakness, ascending and progressive and other symptoms of the disease. Conclusion: The patient had a satisfactory clinical evolution. That is why whenever there is a patient complaining of facial diplegia, progressive muscular weakness with ascending digestive and respiratory manifestations or other symptoms doctors must think of a syndrome of Guillain Barré to do the timely diagnosis and treatment so as to impede the progression of the disease and avoid complications.REFERENCES
